Six terrible driving habits

Are these the six worst things we Kiwis do on our roads?

Most people seem to have at least one driving habit that annoys them.... when someone else does it.

Stuff.co.nz reader Noel Burland listed the six he sees as contributing the most to dangerous roads and terrible driving.

He lists indicating, slow drivers, tailgating, impatience, poor judgement and a sense of entitlement as the six most frustrating areas where he notices a lack of skill, care and attention. At Fleetcoach, we believe that people will usually drive the way they live, and that life satisfaction and wellbeing in general affects the way we drive - it is essentially impossible to separate the two out. So while Noel is probably spot on that all those behaviours aren't the greatest on the road, we also need to acknowledge that they're all linked to bigger categories like hazard perception, tiredness, and general attitudes to driving.

That's why the Fleetcoach programme tried to take such a holistic approach, explaining exactly why a behaviour isn't ideal and where it might have originated, rather than just telling people they're doing it all wrong.
